You don’t need a full makeover to look fresher on Zoom or video calls. A few simple grooming habits at home go a long way, especially when the camera tends to highlight every little detail.
Start with clean skin and basic moisturising – dryness and flakiness show up more under bright screens. A quick face wash and a light cream give a healthier base. If you prefer, a tinted moisturiser or tiny bit of concealer under the eyes and around the nose can reduce tired shadows.
Eyebrows and hair make a big difference. Combing brows into place and smoothing or tying back hair frames your face neatly. Even a quick ponytail or bun looks more intentional than bed hair.
Lips and under-eyes are high-impact zones. A bit of lip balm and, if you like, a soft tint prevents that “chapped and exhausted” look. If your under-eyes are very dark, a dot of brightening product or gently tapping in some concealer can help.
Finally, think about lighting more than heavy grooming. Facing a window or a soft light source makes you look instantly better, while harsh overhead light creates unflattering shadows. Real-life grooming plus smart lighting together beat any heavy filter.
